About Marshall Motors
Thom and January opened Marshall Motors in 1980. Since then they have been delivering high quality automotive repair service to German and Japanese engineered automobile owners.
History of Marshall Motors
Thom Marshall started out in the automotive business as a technician. After high school he took a job at a company called Almark, working on the trucks in their shop.
Thom left Almark and moved back to Dallas, where he had several jobs before going to work for a small Volkswagen automotive repair shop. After about 5 years, a gentleman came to town who wanted to open a high end exotic car repair shop. A mutual friend told the man about Thom, and so Thom then went to work for his shop, which had 18 bays and 9 technicians. This repair shop business eventually closed up, and he found himself unemployed. About that time the small Volkswagen shop on the far side of Dallas called him up to see if he would go back to work for him. Thom didn't want to move to that part of town, and so the man told him "Why don't you find a building and open up your own shop?" Thom thought that was a brilliant idea.
The next thing he knew, before he even had found a building, the man from the Volkswagen shop was sending him customers and Thom had vehicles parked up and down his street at his home. Thom found a small repair shop building and opened up his repair services there. There he remained for 5 years.
He had finally gotten to the point where he needed help, and as business continued to grow, Thom brought his sister January in to help run the office.
In September of 1988, Thom and January moved to another building. In 1996 they both signed up for shop management consulting and training with the nations leading auto repair shop consulting firm. They've never looked back and have been expanding ever since.
Our Dallas Automotive Repair Shop
Marshall Motors is no ordinary automotive service facility. When you walk into the lobby you will notice it does not look like a repair shop, it looks more like an art gallery. That is because January is an art collector and is proud to showcase local artists in the reception area. All the art that you see when you walk in is available for purchase. They even host a wine and cheese reception for each artist that is featured.
The next thing you will notice is how clean the shop is. There are three large windows in the reception area that let you see everything in the shop, and you can even watch your car while it's being worked on. In fact, our technicians will often take you to your car while in the shop to show you what is wrong with it.
We do any kind of service or repair you may need for your foreign German or Japanese import vehicle – from oil changes, to computer diagnostics, to major overhauls.
